PAOGA helps you protect your personal information
Your personal, secure, digital ‘safe deposit box’
People Are Our Greatest Asset was designed to address the growing concern that the skills and talents of many individuals are unrecognized,
unappreciated and therefore wasted. It reflects the need and value of being able to identify, market and exploit such skills and talents to the
benefit of both the individual and the employer in compliance with the
Data Protection Act 1998 and with
respect for an individual's privacy.
Obviously there is similar value in other attributes of an individuals’ life which can positively contribute to their Health, Wealth and Happiness.
In our ‘real world’ relationships the concept of mutual trust is automatic depending upon the context and importance of the relationship. It
is crucial that you trust your doctor, your police, your government and your bank and we have recently witnessed the outrage when this trust is
abused. Similarly, it is important that they, and other suppliers of goods and services, can trust you; know that you are who you say you are,
believe the information you provide and they collect is accurate, are assured that you can pay your bills.
You seeing a box of ripe plums on a stall and the trader seeing a £5 note in your hand is all the information required for a transaction to
take place. If the plums are sweet and the £5 note not counterfeit, then you are likely to visit this stall again and a relationship is born.
This earned trust may encourage both you and the trader to volunteer more information in order to reaffirm that relationship. Such relevant
information is shared ‘under your control, with your consent, for your benefit’ and this is the concept that PAOGA applies in our increasingly
networked world. But the risks of telling a market trader your name and address are minimal compared to publishing such information on a Social
Networking site accessible by 350 million people worldwide – we all need to learn how to use these new channels of communication more effectively
and responsibly.
As the value to suppliers and the convenience for consumers of digital communication and transactions has grown so has the incidence of abuse
of customer data stored in multiple organisations’ CRM data silos. It is imperative that tools and services to protect the security and privacy
of an individual’s identity and personal information are provided to regain confidence in our digital world. VRM (Vendor Relationship Management)
provides reciprocal powers and responsibilities to the individual, as a consumer, citizen, employee, patient, student, to rebalance the
relationship with their chosen suppliers.
